The world that each one of us lives in is basically shapes about 75% of who we are. The only things that we can change about our worlds is the things we can control which is ourselves and the actions we each as individuals take. Things that the world uses to shape us are things that are uncontrollable like other people. In Silence of the Lambs the main antagonist wanted to shape his world to become a girl, he more or less did and that was all he could do. He did everything in his power to become a girl, he at first took small steps and tried to get a sex change at multiple hospitals. After being turned down too many times he decided that he would just take real women and just use them to achieve his dream of becoming a girl. Clarice the main protagonist of the story was something that he couldn't control and in the end she killed him. He could only control the controllables. Other things that affect your world that is uncontrollable are things like the weather or your family and social class that you are born into. All of these things are chance and after awhile change and go away. Life today is shaped a lot by things like the media and what is seen on T.V. and social media websites. People are highly influenced by the models they see on the internet that virtually look perfect. The idea that you'll never be able to be perfect or that you aren't perfect the way you are is constantly reinforced and learned by kids and adults everywhere. These ads practically give people low self-esteem and other problems like anxiety without even trying. A show like jersey shore is also highly idolized and looked up to even though it is 4 people screwing around. This show alone has influenced people to act more like what they saw on last nights episode. All of this happens because the person thinks that this is the way to act or what they are doing is wrong. That is the part that someone can control.

Phyllis vs. Neff Clash of the antagonists!
In this shot the viewer is drawn instantly to the background. Phyllis is in the lazy frame and therefore not the focus. Here the audience is drawn to look at how calm and peaceful the scenery is. Without seeing the whole movie a viewer could guess that Double Indemnity is a love story just based on this still image. Glancing at the two lights that are symmetrically placed, one can presume that this was a choice by the director to highlight the fact that only Phyllis and Neff are relevant to the story at the moment. As a final act of breaking their bond right before shes about to kill him she turns off the light to signify the change in their relationship. The fishbowl is placed there because that is also very important. The first time Neff walked into the house the first thing he did was put down his hat on the dresser and feed the fish. Keeping the fish in the scene shows that Phyllis and Neff's relationship has gone back to neutral now that Phyllis does not need him anymore. I also think that the couch is put on the intersection because it is where Neff is going to sit down and confront Phyllis.

Autopsy: Hannah's mom bound, bashed.
Even though this blog post is not about Hannah's mom here is a link if you care to find out about the story that i captured your attention with! http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/24/justice/hannah-anderson-family-autopsy/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
and on to the content.
The overall subject is portrayed very neutrally in the frame. The house is not directly on one of the intersections of the lines. The things that capture the eye of the viewer are places in the background like the field and the water. The eye is also slightly drawn to the house but not as much as the background around the house. The house and the field are the things that are foregrounded in the picture verses the water and the islands that are backgrounded. The image wants us to think about how much nature is around the pre-cogs now that they have left the pre crime system. Maybe how small they are in the scheme of things. Some of the elements like the house might be a little bit more important than the water and the islands, only because something actually important is happening in them. In this scene there is a very natural use of lighting. This natural usage of lightning makes the small house look more realistic and gives the audience a sense of being able to relate to the sunset. This type of shot is definitely a extreme long shot. The effect of this shot is that the audience understands the background and scenery more. This shot helps establish the isolated nature feel of the scene. The house is included in the crane to contribute to the event happening in the shot, it allows us to make the connection that the pre-cogs are living inside and that they are isolated and in the middle of nowhere.
